Intersoft Electronics pays much attention to customising its products to specific customers' needs. We like to engage in new projects closely co-operating with the customer and leading to new product developments. The users of our products are provided with extensive theoretical and practical training courses and we supported a large number of customers during radar and site measurement campaigns.

Starting from 1994 Intersoft Electronics has been deeply involved in the developments surrounding the Test Tools for Radars as initiated by Eurocontrol in the Framework of the POEMS (Pre-Operational European Mode S) project and more in particular for the PTE (POEMS Test Equipment) Tools. Our company realized the PTE-1 and PTE-2 parts of POEMS leading to the development of our RASS-S and RES tools which now are being used by many customers all over the world. Currently our company is developing Phase 5 of the Eurocontrol PTE project, leading to powerful tools used to integrate data from several radarsites and thus allowing an assessment of the functioning of Radar Centres.

Since military users have several specific needs which require an adaptation of the standard Radar Analysis tools we developed special features in close co-operation with for example NAMSA, the Belgian and Dutch Airforces.

Several customers expressed a vivid interest in the use of our Radar Test Tools for the permanent monitoring of the radars and continuous logging of the Radar data e.g. for legal recording purposes. Closely working together with the Dutch Civil ATC Authority we trimmed the RASS-S system of some of its more advanced features and integrated this new, less complex system with a high-quality display thus giving birth to the Radar Maintenance Unit (RMU) and Technical Monitor Display (TMD) instruments, together forming the RASS-M(aintenance) equipment.

We also developed an integrated remote control feature for the RASS-M which allows an easy and comfortable remote monitoring and reduces the cost arising from false alarms while preventing the radar engineers from missing important problematic working of the radar.

If you have installed a Mode S radar station or plan to install one, you will require to monitor the performance of the station and the environment. Recent surveys have shown that environmental problems, as well as transponder errors can seriously degrade the detection certainty of plots and entire trajectories. The Intersoft RTQC (Real Time Quality Control) system allows you to monitor non-stop and in real time the behaviour of the ground station, the airborne transponders as well as the environment they are working in. The software, developed in close co-operation with DFS and Eurocontrol, uses the standard RASS-S hardware ( RVR+RVI, EDR and RTE ) to detect and report problematic regions and entities in your radar environment.

The Radar Comparator (RC) is an essential tool for radar performance analysis based on operational data from one or several radars. Multi-radar analysis tools have been used in the past with limited success. The Radar Comparator is the first tool to proof that the concept is working and is simple to use if implemented correctly. We provide a dual-radar comparison, still allowing to ingest data for multiple radars at once if this is considered necessary. Basic performance parameters, such as Probability of detection, Range , Time and Azimuth accuracy, Code validation are measured using opportunity radar data. RASS-S can be used for recording of this data ( using Serial HDLC, Lap-B, X25.3 or other synchronous protocols, or LAN using TCP-IP or UDP-IP) , while the Radar Comparator Tool provides the required analysis results.
