Moving Platform Simulation w/ DIS
Moving Platform Simulation w/ DIS End of 2009 Intersoft Electronics added, in cooperation with Boeing, a software interface allowing the RES28x ( Radar Environment Simulator) to run scenarios distributed using the IEEE1278 standard DIS interface. DIS stands for Distributed Interactive Application and is typically used to distribute over LAN scenario data to all sorts of simulation tools, e.g. flight simulators, combat simulators, etc. For the Intersoft Electronics application, the simulation of IFF equipped targets allows these targets to be taken from DIS generator applications and inject the IFF targets in real time into IFF interrogators. The IFFI radar can be assumed to be static (ground based) or aboard an “ownship”, e.g. an IFFI equipped airborne platform.
